Energy & utilities in the UK are going through a transformation journey with the focus on making data-centric Asset Investment decisions, enhanced customer experience (through digital and data enablement), sustainable and reliable infrastructure(green energy driven water treatment, fewer leakages etc.), digitalization of the aging infrastructure, visualization of their disparate decision support systems in a single pane of glass and most importantly disruption from innovative technologies entering the marketplace. Cognizant has engagements with multiple energy & utilities clients in the UK where we are helping them being customer obsessed and lead the transformation initiatives to build new offerings, solutions and innovative business models aligned to the market trends and regulatory commitments.

What are we looking for?

• We are seeking experienced Solutions Architects with industry experience in Energy & Utilities, who are passionate about making a difference for our clients helping us deliver on energy transition, digital transformation and net zero agendas. • Utilities core business and/or regulatory processes/systems - e.g., electricity balancing and settlement, smart metering, market wide half hourly settlement
• Business Consulting (Advisory Services, Process Consulting & Business Analysis) in Utilities or regulatory bodies in UK&I

Role and Responsibilities:

• Shaping, leading and delivering value through technology advisory consultancy and through guiding transformational delivery engagements
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills at senior levels that will enable consensus building and shaping technology direction
• Leading in the development and presentation of client proposals collaborating with teams across our business
• Leading in the development of collateral to support Technology Consulting 'go to market' propositions and service offerings
• Farming of accounts - working with account teams to support opportunity identification, qualification and sales
• Contribute to the development of practice members' skills to ensure a consistency of service delivery and expertise. Active coaching and mentoring of junior members of the team
• Develop, implement and continually refine a coherent approach and appropriate frameworks to support business transformation proposals, that includes presentations, specimen RFI/RFP content, methodologies, toolkits and deliverables.
• The Solution Architect will have a strong foundation in the design of microservice and event-driven architectures, implemented in Java on AWS. They will have experience of creating high-level designs (HLDs) from functional and non-functional requirements, following standards and principles to guide the design. They will own the design and be able to defend design choices at architecture assurance forums (e.g., TDA).

Desirable skills and experience:

• AWS Certified Solution Architect
• Exposure to Python, Tableau
• Java security (e.g., JCA, JAAS, JSSE, OWASP)
• Familiarity with TOGAF, DDD. The Solution Architect must be comfortable drafting documents, preparing presentations, researching IT architecture and technology topics, and providing oversight to development teams. They must have the ability to abstract complex themes, problem solve, distil key discussion points, organize work, deliver to tight deadlines, and communicate with non-technical senior stakeholders.
