The Gas Scheduler is responsible for assisting the Gas Supply Manager with planning and coordinating the transportation of natural gas through pipelines by nominating and confirming gas trades on interstate and intrastate pipelines, ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards, while monitoring market conditions and demand to optimize gas deliveries to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Nominate and confirm gas trades: submit timely nominations for natural gas movements on pipelines according to customer demand and contract obligations.

• Monitor pipeline systems: track gas flows on pipelines, identifying potential issues and adjusting schedules accordingly.
• Manage imbalances: analyze and resolve discrepancies between scheduled gas volumes and actual deliveries to maintain balance on the system.
• Market analysis: stay informed about weather conditions, market trends, and gas prices to forecast demand and optimize scheduling strategies.
• Contract compliance: ensure all gas scheduling activities adhere to relevant pipeline tariffs and contractual agreements.
• Communication and collaboration: work closely with Interconn and operations teams to coordinate scheduling needs and address any issues.
• Reporting and data analysis: generate reports on gas flows, imbalances, and scheduling performance to support accounting, regulatory reporting, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

• Ability to learn rapidly and adapt to evolving needs
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Very strong MS Excel skills
• Detail-oriented approach to data management and accurate recordkeeping

Preferred Requirements:

• Knowledge/ Experience in the Natural Gas/ Utilities industry
