Your role and responsibilities
If your professional interest lies in the tension between OT and IT, then this job could very well be tailored just for you. At ABB, we develop and implement automation technology. A significant part of the task is about getting a number of different systems to play together with ABB's 800xA automation system. This includes getting 3rd party systems integrated. It is in the integration part that you enter the scene in a combined role as 'bridge', system architect and specialist. You will work with a wide range of technologies such as Aveva PI (Data Archive & Asset Framework), SQL databases, SAP via OPC UA connections, PAS-X (MES system) and other 3rd party systems that support interfaces such as HTTP, OPC UA and SQL. What you can't do, we teach you. You familiarize yourself with the customer's systems and wishes. You come up with proposed solutions and coordinate them with the customer. You brief your ABB colleagues who develop the platforms and participate in tests and validation. You also work hands-on with configuration with a little associated code work. Your responsibilities: • Familiarize yourself with the customer's system landscape • Initiate dialogue with the customer about needs and possible solutions - take technical ownership of the task • Prepare requirement specs and brief ABB colleagues who develop the platforms • Create integration between the customer's various systems and ABB's 800xA automation system - the system integration is your key focus • Configure solutions incl. coding of scripts in Python, C# and the like • Participate in testing and validation of solutions • Ensure qualified documentation and hand over to the customer

You will be based in either Middelfart or Ballerup. The rest of the digital team is located in Middelfart, so if you are placed in Ballerup, some travel to Middelfart will be required. You must be prepared to participate in meetings, tests, and other activities with customers as needed. While much can be done remotely, in-person meetings often provide additional value. Qualifications for the role
- Technical education at min. bachelor's level, e.g. in automation or software development
- 1-2 years of experience with project-oriented work within the OT area
- Coding experience
- Motivation to read documentation to understand 3rd party systems, e.g. Aveva PI, SQL databases, SAP, PAS-X etc.
- Ability to work analytically and detail oriented
- Motivation for a job with a lot of dialogue with both the customer's employees and colleagues
- The courage to take control of a task and make decisions to create momentum
