Are you looking for a phenomenal opportunity in Aiken, South Carolina? Come join our team at Emerson Discrete Automation. We are currently looking for an Engineering Specialist.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
  • Responsible for advancing diverse process improvements, including cell configuration, machine capacity, production quality, decreasing setup, cycle times, and equipment down time.
  • Supporting and advancing Lean manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Assuring machine capability with capability studies coordinated with Quality Assurance department.
  • Solving problems and fixing within assigned areas. Active involvement and concentration in the resolution of process, production, and flow issues.
  • Resolving cause of the problem, formulating solutions, providing written summaries, and recommending/instituting permanent corrective action.
  • Alignment of manufacturing processes, globally.
  • Provide training and assistance to all assigned personnel.
  • Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will build an unsafe condition. Report all safety concerns immediately.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.

WHO YOU ARE:

You will make sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information, provide timely and effective information to others across the organization, and stage activities and schedules

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
  • Technical/associate's degree or experience in lieu of a degree, with relevant years of prior manufacturing experience commensurate with the level of this position.
  • AUTOCAD experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and ability to fix using root cause analysis.
  • Strong mechanical abilities, troubleshooting experience with root cause analysis.
  • Strong organizational ability, communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Able to meet the physical requirements listed for this position.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
  • Technical/associate's degree with 5+ years of prior manufacturing experience or 7+ years of manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Take initiative and make quality decisions based on known policies and procedures with minimal direction.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Act as a leader with utmost integrity, professionalism, and positive demeanor.
  • Must be a team player and lead by example.
  • A+ certification.
  • Lean manufacturing background, including 5S experience.

PHYSICAL DEMAND & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • While performing duties may be required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist and/or lift up to 40 pounds throughout an entire shift.
  • Exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease.
  • PPE's will be required including safety glasses, safety shoes and/or ear plugs
  • May be required to work at different workstations as business needs require.
