This role is based at the Port Arthur Platform within the Technical. It has 2-4 direct reports (process support engineers) and is a key player in the Process Support arena. Annual budgets for project studies is ~$1MM/year.

• It is about leadership, coordination, teamwork, and execution. Being able to challenge the stakeholders to develop plans and being able to control to those plans. It is being able to work with and communicate with all levels of the organization.

Activities

• Supervise/coach a team of Process Support Engineers that provide technical support to several areas of the refinery, including Offsites and Utilities. Coordinate, adjust and evaluate activities of the team and assure good quality of the provided services.
• This position and the group he or she supervises will be heavily focused on energy efficiency, CO2 reduction, and boiler/heater process support.
• Define, supervise, and evaluate the training programs of the Process Support Engineers. Ensure they have the technical core competencies and that they acquire a strong technological expertise.
• Manage and develop teamwork of his/her team within the rest of the Dept. Ensure the progress of the "Priorities list".
• Represent Process Support Group within the business teams and working groups and actively participate in realization of their priorities.
• Participate in Safety and Environmental improvement programs (HAZOPs, PHAs, ISRS item resolution, emissions calculations, etc.)

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 9 years of experience in Process Engineering, Operations, and Projects in a refinery as well as in Steam cracker context
• Some experience in short or long-term planning is preferred.
• Must have strong troubleshooting and technical skills for both refining and steam cracking processes.
• Capability for establishing organizations and to carry out modifications, leading capacity, management capacity, team-worker, sense of responsibility.
