Position Summary:
RMU seeks a collaborative, data-driven, strategic Director of Demand Generation Marketing to lead and execute innovative marketing initiatives that drive prospective student engagement and enrollment. This role will develop and optimize multi-channel marketing campaigns to attract high-quality applicants to RMU's graduate programs.
The ideal candidate has expertise in performance marketing, lead nurturing, digital advertising, and marketing automation to create a seamless and compelling prospective student journey. This role will work closely with University academic program directors and enrollment management to align marketing efforts with institutional goals. This is an exciting opportunity to be directly responsible for the enrollment growth of RMU's 24 graduate degree programs and 18 certificates-each with a unique target audience.

Key Responsibilities:
Demand Generation & Lead Nurturing
- In collaboration with academic program directors and enrollment management leadership, create comprehensive marketing plans for each educational program to drive enrollments.
- Oversee and optimize digital lead-generation initiatives, including digital advertising, to maximize student acquisition across all graduate programs.
- Work closely with the enrollment management team to develop positioning, content, and messaging for outreach initiatives, including automated, CRM-driven communication to prospective students and applicants to manage lead flows and optimize conversion rates.
- Develop and implement data-driven marketing strategies to generate and nurture prospective student leads.
- Oversee multi-channel campaigns, including paid search, social media, SEO, email marketing, content marketing, and retargeting.
Digital & Paid Media Strategy
- Lead the creation and execution of the University's comprehensive digital marketing strategy to increase brand awareness, engage prospective students, and drive enrollment.
- Manage and optimize digital advertising campaigns (Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, TikTok) to drive qualified leads.
- Manage and expand the University's digital presence across various platforms, including social media, program websites, and third-party platforms, to engage with prospective students meaningfully.
- Collaborate with the web and UX/UI teams to enhance website conversion rates, including A/B testing and landing page optimization.
- Oversee SEO strategies to increase organic search visibility for RMU's graduate programs.
Content & Thought Leadership Marketing
- Partner with faculty, alums, and current students to develop compelling content (podcasts, videos, testimonials) highlighting RMU's unique value.
- Work closely with the content team to ensure all digital content (website, social media, email campaigns, etc.) is consistent, engaging, and optimized for prospective students and search engines.
- Create key marketing messages/campaigns for the student enrollment lifecycle.
- Collaborate with enrollment management to engage prospective students through virtual and in-person events to build relationships with prospects, including information sessions, Q&A sessions, and conferences.
Analytics & Performance Optimization
- Establish and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and reports to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI.
- Use analytics tools to identify trends, optimize marketing spend, and improve lead quality.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to refine RMU's positioning and messaging.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with enrollment and academic leaders to align marketing strategies with enrollment goals and University strategic priorities.
- Manage relationships with agencies and vendors for paid media, SEO, and creative development.
- Lead and mentor marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and performance to ensure high-quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and manage the digital marketing budget, allocating resources efficiently to meet acquisition and brand goals.
Background/Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience in demand generation, digital marketing, or enrollment marketing;
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education. Higher education marketing for graduate student recruitment is preferred.
- Hands-on expertise in various marketing techniques. Including digital advertising, SEO/SEM, content marketing, and email marketing.
- Proven ability to execute multi-channel campaigns that drive lead generation and conversions.
- Experience managing paid media budgets and optimizing digital advertising performance.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using Google Analytics, CRMs, or similar reporting tools.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration
