Your role and responsibilities
Do you want to take part in cutting edge technology development of Industrie 4.0? Then join ABB 3 to 6 months, a global key player in industrial automation and smart electrification, as an intern or to write you master thesis. Apply your competence and grow personally in a challenging and fascinating environment. In ABB's Research Center in Mannheim Germany, we target innovating digital industries as well as sustainable electrification systems. We contribute to these goals with software architecture design, applying latest software technologies and researching software tools for efficient automation engineering. Become a member of our team and be part of our research projects. The following tasks and responsibilities will be part of your role: • Design and implementation of a UX system to guide different users through selection criteria of sustainable designs. • Modeling and updating asset administration shells and submodels according to the IDTA standard. • Maintaining the needed tool and data interfaces and retrieving them for dynamic visualizations. • Exploring existing academic and technological approaches for the integration of knowledge graphs. • Systematic evaluation and documentation of results and learnings.

Qualifications for the role
- Background in computer science, software and systems engineering, information technology, electrical/automation engineering (or a related subject).
- Frontend development experience, preferably backend as well.
- Additional experience with different data backends is a plus.
- Curious about new technologies and want to tackle challenges collaboratively and independently.
- Sound English skills in speaking and writing required by an international team.
