Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the mining business within the Process Industry Division at the Cottbus site. You will focus on profitable growth and overall management of all business activities including sales, project management and all related operational processes. You will also have full P&L responsibility for the local mining business. You will act as a single point of contact between customers, markets and internal business units. In close cooperation with the global teams, especially with Switzerland, you will drive innovative strategies to develop new market potential and to sustainably develop the Cottbus site. You will be primarily responsible for: • Strategic and operational management of the local Mining business line, including employee motivation and development and optimal organisational alignment. • Overall responsibility for sales, marketing and operations in close coordination with the Lead Business Line Manager, including the implementation of the global strategy at the local level. • Analyse market opportunities and develop strategic actions in collaboration with the local sales and marketing team and other business units for targeted business development. • Developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships and expanding the customer portfolio to ensure high customer satisfaction, as well as promoting employee development and talent development to strengthen the Cottbus site as an important part of the global strategy.

Qualifications for the role

  • You have a master's degree (or comparable qualification) in a technical field, preferably in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • You have experience in managing large-scale projects or service organizations, ideally with profit and loss responsibility, and you have strong leadership skills that motivate and inspire teams.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in the plant business, ideally in the mining industry, with a strong focus on systems business and plant engineering. In addition, you have in-depth knowledge of markets, customers, technologies and competitors.
  • You have strong sales and marketing skills and the ability to build strong and long-term customer relationships.
  • You have excellent communication, negotiation, coaching and leadership skills and are fluent in written and spoken German and English.
