Our Rotterdam biofuels facility will produce low-carbon fuels from waste, using advanced technologies. Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) could make up more than half of the 820,000-tonnes-a-year capacity, with the rest being renewable diesel. Once built, the facility will be among the biggest in Europe to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel made from waste. These low-carbon fuels will help to meet growing demand from the transport sector, including hard-to-decarbonise sectors such as heavy road transport and aviation.

Construction Manager
We have an opportunity for a Construction Manager to support our Rotterdam biofuels facility. The successful candidate(s) will be engaged on a contract basis, until the end of 2026. The role would be based on-site at our facility in Rotterdam, NL. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the management and engineering of capital projects compliant with agreed business and technical objectives, within schedule and budget, whilst ensuring quality, safe installation, and operation as well as performance to agreed requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support and drive the site construction execution plan developed by EPCm contractor.
• Support and drive the development of the construction schedule by EPCm contractor, with particular focus on the Heavy Haul, Heavy Lift Logistics and Civil scope
• Support the Civil tender process, including the scoping, evaluation and selection of the incumbent
• Support and drive the development of a safety leadership program to be implemented upon restart of the project
• Support and drive all necessary construction preparation activities leading to an effective re-start of Early Works in the second half 2025
• Act as the Civil Construction Manager, in preparation and execution of the work scope

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects, particularly in the civil engineering domain, within the oil, gas, or energy sector.
• Strong technical knowledge in construction methodologies, heavy haul, heavy lift logistics, and civil works.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and driving the execution of complex construction projects.
• Proven ability to develop and drive safety programs and promote a safety-first culture across the project site.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to travel to the project site is required.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
