Short description

For our client we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Work Preparation Methods Engineer to join the Offshore Transport and Immersion work preparation team. Do you want to participate in one of the biggest civil project in Europe? Then we are looking for you!

Function description

In the preparatory phase, you're the driving force behind shaping and refining work methods. You'll:
  • Develop and detail execution strategies, turning ideas into clear, practical approaches.
  • Capture these strategies in comprehensive documents-method statements, procedures, risk assessments, and inspection/test plans.
  • Guide draftspersons in visualizing work methods with precision, ensuring everything is ready for seamless handover to execution teams.
  • Act as a key link between design and execution, making sure all specs and data are accurate, aligned, and up to date.
  • Stay ahead of the game by proactively coordinating with execution teams to ensure constructability and safety are baked into every plan.
  • Prepare technical specifications and quantity estimates for procurement, covering everything from marine mooring equipment and lifting gear to immersion tools and fabrication packages.

Once you move into the execution phase, your expertise continues to shine as you:
  • Provide hands-on advice during transport and installation operations.
  • Monitor weather windows in real-time and track offshore progress to ensure safe and timely execution.
  • Take the lead in preparing for critical go/no-go moments-documenting readiness and aligning all preparation teams to ensure every checklist is complete.

Finally, post-immersion, you'll conduct thorough reviews to capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement-refining and optimising work methods for future success.

Requirements

  • You have a strong technical foundation, holding a degree in Civil Engineering (specialized in Civil Marine or Offshore Construction), Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture-gained through vocational higher education or university. You also bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience in roles like Work Preparation Engineer, Project Engineer, or a similar capacity.
  • With a solid background in marine or offshore operations, you're no stranger to the challenges and complexities of working at sea.
  • Your understanding of civil engineering principles and marine operations is well developed, and you're eager to deepen your knowledge of offshore operational standards such as DNV-ST-N001.
  • A natural problem-solver, you're proactive, decisive, and ready to take initiative when the situation calls for it.
  • You thrive in a team setting and have strong communication skills that help you connect with colleagues from all backgrounds.
  • Working in an international, multicultural environment energizes you. You know that collaboration and team spirit are the keys to success.
  • You're flexible and adventurous-you're open to relocating to Denmark, participating in offshore immersion operations, and completing STCW training.
  • And of course, you're fluent in English, confident in using it in both technical discussions and day-to-day communication.
