The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading all Nuclear related, capital cost project estimates, as well as assisting Preconstruction activities. Requirements include creating accurate estimates for attaining profitable work, as well as assisting clients in making fact-based decisions by presenting accurate estimates in a credible and professional manner. Our clients have diverse portfolios of project types and execution strategies at different stages of project execution. The estimate accuracy ranges from firm proposals to screening level estimates. The execution strategy of these nuclear projects varies, but can include EPC, EPCM or Construction only.

$120,000.00-165,000.00 Annually
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.

- Lead estimating strategy and implementation efforts
- Responsible for compliance with estimating methodology, insuring quality estimates are produced
- Lead project team review for estimating quantities and scope of project
- Review and approve small and disadvantaged business solicitation and evaluations
- Lead subcontractor solicitation and pre-qualification reviews
- Review and verify subcontractor bid packages before being transmitted for quotes
- Responsible for reviewing and approving specialty and standard equipment pricing
- Lead Estimating teams for completion of pre-construction services
- Responsible for cost history, database management and estimating process
- Approve general conditions, indirect costs and review as provided by project management team
- Review and approve project summary schedules for validity
- Manage workload scheduling to ensure timely completion of deliverables
- Prepare and present estimating data for risk review process
- Develop strategy on contract partnering agreements
- Verify and approve estimates for joint venture reviews
- Review commercial terms and conditions and address risk issues
- Review and validate value engineering items, alternates and options
- Make final recommendations as to fee, contingency and escalation
- Responsible for the review of final estimate before management review and proposal presentation
- Present the estimate to internal and external clients
- Provide estimates of internal costs to develop estimates
- Responsible for the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptions
- Review documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of work
- Train and mentor Estimating staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field and 7 years of direct project estimating experience
- Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Expert with Microsoft Office, ConEst and K-base.
- OSHA 10-hour certification Required
Preferred:
- Direct project Preconstruction, Estimating or Project Controls experience, Nuclear experience is a plus
