Role Overview
The SURF - QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Company's quality assurance, quality control, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements throughout the service lifecycle. The key responsibilities include:
- HSE Compliance: Ensure that all activities align with the Company's HSE standards and requirements.
- Quality Management: Implement and ensure adherence to the Company's quality surveillance and quality management system for the service.
- Inspection and Reporting: Manage inspections and oversee the activities of inspectors. Attend pre-production and kick-off meetings to ensure alignment on project requirements. Regularly visit manufacturer workshops to monitor production and ensure quality standards are being met. Issue detailed inspection reports and corrective action requests (CARs) when required.
- Contractor Surveillance: Supervise contractor surveillance activities to ensure compliance with the required quality control processes. Review and assess manufacturer and contractor deliverables, including Inspection Test Plans (ITP), heat treatment records, forging reports, Non-Destructive Testing (NDE), Material Purchase Specifications (MPS), and Material Performance Qualification Tests (MPQT). Manage notifications for inspection, inspection reports, and inspection release notes. Handle Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), perform root cause analysis, and recommend remedial actions. Participate in contractor audits to verify compliance.
- Manufacturing Record Books (MRB): Oversee the compilation of Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs) to ensure accurate documentation for traceability.
- Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Work closely with engineering, planning, and other disciplines to ensure the procurement process is followed effectively and timely.
- Welding/Coating/NDE Qualifications: Monitor and assess the welding, coating, and NDE qualifications at the contractor's premises to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Local Team Supervision: Coordinate with and supervise the local QA/QC team in Angola to ensure proper execution of SURF QA/QC activities on-site.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Certifications in QA/QC or project management are preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the oil and gas industry.
