Airswift has been Tasked to find a Construction Superintendent (Piping and Mechanical) to work for one of our major costumers based in Grandpuits-Bailly-Carrois, France.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Superintendent must ensure that the work carried out under his or her direction strictly complies with HSE criteria, the requirements of the work description regarding quality, technical, financial, and planning, and good construction practices.
The Superintendent is responsible for the work assigned to him or her in accordance with the approved execution plan and in line with the achievement of project objectives. He or she is the primary contact for all site work.
He or she works closely with all members of the site team to achieve the performance and cost objectives defined in the project contract and will coordinate a team of supervisors for each discipline/work.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing ongoing work and acts as the Construction Project Management Manager (supervision and management of co-activity):

• Report operationally to the site manager
• Assist the site manager with their activities when necessary (replacement)
• Supervise the discipline supervisors in charge of the work
• Promote teamwork among the discipline supervisors
• Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with approved plans and specifications and local regulations.
• Ensure the implementation of the construction site HSE plan
• Participate in, lead, and promote HSE among construction site personnel on the ground
• Ensure the implementation of the construction site Quality plan
• Participate in, lead, and promote Quality in the field (quality reception, inspections, etc.)
• Adapt and implement a relevant, robust, and effective co-activity management system
• Participate in and co-lead, with the HSE department, co-activity management meetings for ongoing work through regular coordination meetings (daily and/or weekly)
• Monitor and validate work progress in line with the schedule
• Report any deviations/issues to the construction site manager, planner, quality coordinator, and contract administrator, depending on the nature of the issue.
• Escalate operational issues that may affect the smooth running of project work;
• Document changes and progress of work;
• Participate in construction site meetings;
• Compile daily reports of work and quantities completed.
• Participate in the preparation of the weekly site report.
• Review and validate the overall work schedule for the companies.
• Review and validate the 3-week work schedule for the companies.
• Ensure that the companies' resources are properly mobilized.
• Ensure that the Work-Front is available to enable the companies' activities to be carried out on site - If necessary, analyze and propose an action plan to management.
• Support and coordinate with the Start-up team during the start-up, completion, and mechanical completion phases.
• Provide feedback to the Project and Construction Home Office teams.
• Responsible for ensuring the satisfactory completion of their discipline in terms of work quality, schedule, and budget.
• Responsible for ensuring daily progress and certification are updated in the Construction & Completion tool
• Reporting critical issues and bottlenecks to management
• Liaising with the PCC team on equipment test readiness, depending on their role
• Responsible for drawing annotations
• Effectively engaging in company cost reduction initiatives

Required skills:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction and revamping work on industrial sites
  • Excellent experience in preparing and monitoring all-trades projects (piping and mechanical engineering)
  • 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Design interfaces with understanding of needs and on-site identification
  • Strong HSE awareness
