Country Holding Officer / Head of Communications for Electrification (indirect)
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will lead media and PR efforts, manage internal communications, oversee digital channels, and safeguard ABB's brand and reputation in Germany. You will also play a crucial role in crisis communications and issues management. The work model for the role is hybrid. #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the Communications function in Germany. Main stakeholders are ABB's employees, business area communicators, media representatives, and external partners. You will be mainly accountable for: • Leading media relations with Tier 1 and financial publications, acting as a spokesperson and managing media inquiries • Managing crisis communications and issues management to minimize negative impact on ABB's brand and reputation • Overseeing internal and digital communications, ensuring proper dissemination of ABB Corporate content across channels and alignment with key functions like legal, HR, HSE, and security • Safeguarding ABB's brand identity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a balanced representation of all business areas in Germany • Managing the country communications budget efficiently to maximize effectiveness and transparency • Collaborating with other communicators, including those in government affairs, in line with the ABB Way • Serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, ensuring that communication aligns with business objectives and effectively supports ABB's corporate vision • Proactively engaging with senior executives, media, and stakeholders, leveraging your influencing skills to drive alignment and impact You will join a collaborative and dynamic team, where you will be able to drive ABB's Communications strategy and strengthen its brand presence in Germany. Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field
- 10+ years of proven experience in Communication or Public Relations within a complex, matrixed organization
- Exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken German and English, with a strong ability to write and edit content for diverse audiences
- Expertise and hands-on experience in all facets of internal and external communications, with a solid track record of successful initiatives
- Proven ability to lead and motivate local and remote teams, achieve organizational focus on key priorities, provide clear direction, coach/mentor, and influence in a matrix organization
- A well-established network within the media and press, with the ability to lead and manage crisis communications independently and effectively
- Strong business acumen with excellent collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships with ease
