Job Purpose

• Provide CAD (Computer Aided Design) Engineering support for jobs executed by Company's Engineering Department for developing drawings for in-house Engineering packages, FEED and EPIC tender packages etc.
• Perform piping layout routings, specify bill of materials, assist with the material procurement process, and play part in the efficient and cost-effective designs which meet project requirements.
• Act as custodian for all CAD drawings for various facilities of the Company.
• Periodically maintain and update the drawing repository by doing As-built of the drawings.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare material take-offs including pipe, fittings, valves, to support various cost estimates as required by the project.
• Prepare 2D piping CAD drawings using AutoCAD and Brics CAD software for In-house construction packages for modification projects. Develop the design and drafting of complex piping drawings given basic information such as P&ID's, GA's, piping specifications, equipment arrangement drawings.
• Prepare piping 3D model using CAD Worxs software for In-house construction packages for modification projects.
• Explain drawings to construction teams and provide clarifications on issued drawings and provide drawing revisions as necessary based on site inputs.
• Develop /review various piping drawings like Plot Plans, Equipment Lay out, Piping General Arrangement, Isometric drawings etc. as assigned by the Piping Engineers.
• Take accountability and awareness for ensuring work is done in line with project plan, budget, and schedule as advised by Head of Mechanical & Piping.
• Coordinate with Piping Engineering Team and other design disciplines to gather inputs and resolve issues as they may be required.
• Carryout Piping Design Studies related to existing facilities as assigned by Lead Engineers.
• Assist the Engineers to carry out Technical evaluation of piping bulk items and valve based on bids received.
• Review and provide comments on Piping Engineering related drawings and documents submitted by Contractors / Consultants, Equipment Vendor drawings etc. for various projects as needed.
• Perform piping routing and layouts independently.

Education

• Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in piping design of offshore oil & gas projects out of which at least 2 years should be in the capacity of senior piping designer.
