Job title: Smart Factory Leader

Location: Brazil (São João da Barra) or Denmark (Kalundborg)

Job Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation and related areas;
  • Specialization in Production Administration, Operations Research, IT Project Management, People Management and/or related areas.
  • Advanced English level;
  • Advanced Office Package;
  • Knowledge of Project management tools (MS Project);
  • Knowledge of production information management systems (PIMS, MES, etc.);
  • CAD tools;
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity norms and standards.


Main responsibilities:

  1. Leading the digital transformation
    1. Defining and executing the digitalization strategy for the production of flexible pipelines, revisiting and considering previous experiences in existing systems and plans.
    2. Coordinating the team of engineers and technicians involved in the plant's digital transformation.
    3. Promoting an Industry 4.0 culture, encouraging innovation and the adoption of new technologies.
    4. Align digitalization initiatives with the company's strategic guidelines.
  2. Implementation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
    1. Review and update the MES implementation plan, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
    2. Define and manage MES interfaces with other corporate systems, such as ERP, Planning, Quality and SCADA.
    3. Coordinating the selection and contracting of suppliers to implement the MES at the plants in Brazil and Denmark.
    4. Supervising the implementation of the MES, ensuring compliance with industry standards and good practices.
    5. Monitoring testing, validation and training of operational teams.
  3. Development and Management of Automated Measurement Systems
    1. Supervising the specification, development and implementation of automated measurement systems for quality control and manufacturing monitoring.
    2. Coordinating the commissioning and certification of these systems to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
    3. Integrating the measurement systems with the MES and other company digital platforms.
  4. Ensuring the traceability of measurement data and its use for continuous process improvement.
    1. Managing and Updating Information Plans
    2. Periodically update the information plans to reflect changes in industrial processes and new technological requirements.
    3. Ensure that the data collected by the measurement and MES systems is correctly structured for analysis and decision-making.
    4. Standardize the collection, storage and use of digital information in the organization, including appropriate access permissions per user.
  5. Digital Systems Support and Maintenance
    1. Keeping servers, licenses and connections up and running to ensure the highest possible availability of the MES and measurement systems, including adherence to cybersecurity policies, information protection and backup.
    2. Define digital asset management policies to ensure the longevity and efficiency of the systems implemented.
    3. Monitor updates and optimizations of digital systems to keep the plant at high performance.
  6. Research and Technological Innovation
    1. Monitoring new technologies and market trends for the evolution of the digital factory.
    2. Evaluating and proposing the adoption of new digital solutions, such as artificial intelligence, IoT, machine learning and advanced automation.
    3. Check the possibility of establishing partnerships with startups, universities and technology suppliers to accelerate innovation.
  7. Performance indicator management
    1. Define and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) related to digital transformation, such as MES efficiency, reliability of measurement systems and the impact of new technologies.
    2. Preparing reports and presentations for senior management on the progress of digital initiatives.
    3. Using data-based analysis to recommend improvements to production processes.
  8. Training and Capacity Building
    1. Promote training for operational and technical teams on the use and maintenance of digital systems.
    2. Create manuals, guides and educational materials to facilitate the absorption of new technologies.
    3. Encourage a mindset of innovation and digitalization among employees.
