Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Supervisor to support one of our onshore clients in Newfoundland and Labrador. This individual will have extensive experience working within oil and gas and / or refining industries.

The Role
The Construction Supervisor will provide day to day supervision of the construction team in the delivery of work to meet safety, operational reliability, quality, financial and productivity targets. Providing supervision of multiple activities and work groups ensuring consistency, efficiency and continuous improvement of delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Focal point for Wood's implementation and construction activities to meet the clients work requirements, focusing on customer relationships, work execution and delivery, as well as management and control of implementation and construction resources
- Oversee and contribute to project execution with respect to implementation planning, construction execution, mechanical completion, system commissioning, and handover to client operations safely and efficiently
- Act as a site liaison with client personnel and manage third-party suppliers in the execution of operational delivery
- Participate in constructability reviews, constructability readiness reviews, and construction execution plans, as required
- Provide supervision to a multi-discipline team, while planning, coordinating and communicating related activities using a permit to work method
- Ensure consistency in application of safety and environmental policies & procedures and lead construction work force in daily communications (toolbox talk / safety etc.)
- Responsible for ensuring adequate personnel and materials are available for construction execution assurance by interfacing with logistics, site, office, and third parties, as required
- Achieve delivery expectation against agreed planned work scopes in line with contract function KPI's whilst ensuring operability and minimize time and cost
- Ownership and approval of the construction technical deliverables to the required technical standards
- Participate in audits and incident investigations, as required
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- Skilled Trade / Journeyman certificate, Technology or Engineering, or any equivalent combination of experience / education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may also be considered
- 10 to 15+ years of applicable experience within the oil and gas, refining industry, both onshore and offshore
- Strong understanding of construction, fabrication, pipe / mechanical and electrical / instrumentation systems / marine concrete
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills allowing the ability to interact with a diverse group, to be assertive to drive culture change when required
- Proven experience of interpreting discipline documentation, and working knowledge of regulatory and industry standards / codes
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of PTW, risk assessments, HAZOPS and HAZIDS
- Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to environmental health and safety issues
- Familiar with quality processes and application of Continuous Improvement (C.I.) tools
- Position will be subject to continuous walking, stair climbing, standing, bending and stretching - physical demands of this position can be high
- Current authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
- Travel to client site is required, therefore candidate must pass a mandatory site-specific drug and alcohol test
