Your role and responsibilities
Mission Statement: Ensures that local business(es) in China conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines and implements ABB's Global Trade Program. Responsible to ensure compliance with import/export-related trade regulations at a local level. Main Accountabilities 1.Create and maintain written procedures and guidelines for local business compliance with export control and sanctions (including (manual) screening), as well as customs compliance requirements. 2.Ensure written overview of all trade related policies and instructions, processes (end-to-end) and tools, as applicable in the local unit, and maintain up-to-date on annual basis. Ensure management awareness of the overview. 3.Provide Local Business managers and other staff periodic updates regarding the status of the local implementation of ABB's Global Trade Program, as well as of changes in export control and customs laws/regulations. Provide trainings to local sales, operations, product classification engineers and other related personnel. 4.Support local division in trade compliance policy and procedure andimplementation and keep PA global trade compliance updated on critical issues. Responsible for the communication with PA global trade compliance to ensure the global policy is feasible for local businesses. 5. Provide oversight, policy advisory and practical guidance to local business regarding export control and customs compliance. Apply to the appropriate government agencies for any required customs and/or export control licenses/authorizations. 6.Together with contract management and legal counsel , make sure the contracts are compliant with ABB global policies and country requirements. Provide support during internal and external audit related to the trade compliance. 7.Support sales in negotiating trade control terms and trade compliance related documents with the customers, as required. Facilitates a seamless connection between trade compliance and day-to-day operations, in collaboration with related personnel. 8.Lead the trade compliance cases reviews with local divisions and interface with PA global trade compliance to guide business decisions. Work with legal counsel to assist business to identify the risks of any suspected export control violation and (potentially)sensitive customs compliance matters. Obtain support from PA Global Trade Compliance. 9.Develop and utilize the efficient platforms (i.e., communication and approval process) to drive the smooth implementation of ABB global trade compliance policies at local level. Support execution of local Trade Reviews and/or conduct annual "self-audits" of Local Business trade compliance. 10.Ensure the classification of all exported and imported products/software/technology with respect to national export control and customs lists where applicable. Work with the CTCO, Information Systems (IS) management, and local Business Line management to ensure the use of the SAP GTS Custom module. Coordinate and obtain support from Global GTS team on the business enhancement where applicable.
