The global Transport Procurement Department is together with the Regional representatives responsible for the negotiation, closure and management of Transport, Warehousing, Shipping and Customs agreements. This includes different means of Transport all along the value chain reaching from Container shipments of components and spare parts into our factories and warehouses to oversized outbound shippings and road transports to the wind farms where the wind turbines are being installed.

Project Trucking is the part of the Transport Procurement department which is responsible for the transport of the wind turbine components from the port of discharge to the site via road. These transports are usually complex to carry out, in need of special transport equipment and subject to a variety of country-specific rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

In the role as Global Purchasing Manager Project Trucking you will be responsible to globally coordinate the Project Trucking Procurement activities which include:
  • Global Coordination: Consolidate knowledge on cost structures and best practices from all regions and ensure global alignment on Sourcing approaches
  • Cost Control Facilitate and monitor streamlined project budget creation and initiate savings initiatives across the regions and align reporting standards and KPIs
  • Vendor Management Establish and implement a global standard to manage the vendor portfolio by deploying standardized scorecards and by establishing procedures to manage supplier performance (Safety, On time delivery, costs, capacity)
  • Regulatory Compliance Ensure that regulatory demands for the different target markets are being considered in the product design phase to secure smooth implementation
  • Risk Management Manage risks for Project Transport globally (e.g. transport tool readiness, capacity, rules and regulations staffing etc.)
  • Sustainability facilitate sustainability initiatives globally to reduce Vestas' CO2 emissions


Qualifications
  • Any kind of university degree; Logistics or Supply Chain degrees are good
  • Experience managing global, functional teams without direct leadership responsibility
  • Experience with the oversized Road Transport specifics from any market globally (Germany or the US)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Knowledge of SAP BI would be good
  • Fluency in English;
