Department Overview
Gas Construction Engineering is responsible for the safe completion of construction projects in accordance with the design, on time and within budget, primarily for Gas T&D.
Gas Construction Engineering ensures projects are built to PG&E standards and regulatory requirements. Gas Construction Engineering works with General Construction and with various contractors to complete gas construction projects throughout the PG&E system.
Position Summary
Provides leadership for represented Field Engineers, Senior Field Engineer Technicians and Field Engineer Technicians. Responsible for promoting safety, quality, while supporting Gas Transmission and Distribution construction.
Provides engineering technical support, monitors gas construction cost, reviews estimates, ensures adherence to company policies and procedures, and performs construction contract administration.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $126,000.
Bay Area Maximum: $200,000.

California Minimum: $120,000.
California Maximum: $190,000.

Job Responsibilities
- Identifies work to be contracted, prepares detail gas construction specifications for construction projects to be outsourced, prepares, and administers gas construction and service contracts.
- Participates in benchmarking and leads process improvement reviews and activities. Provides gas technical guidance and project oversight to ensure adherence to standards.
- Provides project management to address scope, cost, and schedule of jobs for construction.
- Recruit/select, communicate expectations, foster employee engagement, coach, develop, mentor, recognize and reward employees to drive performance and results. Manages union and professional employees. Manages contractors.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience, including budgeting and forecasting experience.
Desired:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Leadership experience.
- PE-Professional Engineer license.
- PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification.
