Job Summary
Responsible for accurate and timely chemical analysis of various plant systems. Evaluate and trend data to ensure compliance with given specifications in order to minimize corrosion. Schedule work activities and training for chemistry employees. Oversee chemistry department operations which include coaching and laboratory observations. Responsible for directing activities and chemical treatment of systems and components in order to prevent corrosion. Evaluate chemistry data to prevent and minimize system failure and out of technical specification conditions. Administer performance appraisals for chemistry technicians including annual and step completions. Monitor and maintain department budget. Interact with station management on chemistry related concerns.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Shall have 5+ years of relevant experience (with preferred Bachelor's degree) in craft or discipline to be supervised or Associate's degree and 7+ years of directly related experience or High School diploma/GED and 9+ years of directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of relevant fundamental theories, principles and concepts. Overall proficiency in Chemistry, especially in conducting chemical analysis, experience working in similar environment, ability to use good judgement in dealing with employees, possessing initiative for improvement and enhancement of procedures and processes.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Discipline(s): Chemistry, Biology
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.4.4
Education requirements: High School diploma
Minimum experience for the position: Related experience which shall include 3 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 yr; On-site experience to include .25 yr.
