Wood is currently recruiting for a Buyer to join our Operations business in Australia & Asia Pacific West (APAC WEST). Based in Perth CBD, this is an immediate 3-month short term role and is available on a full-time / part-time (job share) contractor engagement basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Contracts & Procurement Lead, you will step up and into a dedicated client contract team. You will be responsible for the delivery of specific purchasing activities and implementing strategies that deliver tangible and sustainable savings. Key aspects of the role include being responsible for adding value / generating net savings through:
  • efficient maintenance of orders through SAP
  • providing support to the Senior Buyer
  • driving out waste and reducing costs from within the supply chain
  • identifying and delivering 'bottom up' purchasing opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:

You must have full work rights to work in this Australian location.

Ideally, you will hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent post-secondary qualifications from a recognised institution and related discipline and have a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a purchasing role within the Oil & Gas industry. You will also have:
  • Strong communication skills - oral and written
  • Experience with ERPs in an EPCM environment (including SAP)
  • Experience in Supplier Relationship Management
  • Be commercially astute with a "solutions mindset"
  • Be customer-focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
