JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Contracts and Procurement Specialist to join our Operations business in Australia & Asia Pacific West (APAC WEST). Based in our Perth office, this is a permanent full-time opportunity.

Wood "Operations" delivers Brownfield's engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Energy industry. Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent Energy and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Southeast Asia.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will support and execute full life cycle activities relevant to Supply Chain Management (SCM), in accordance with Woods' procedures, vision and values. Without limitation, this includes key activities involving procurement, expediting, subcontracts negotiation and management, general administration and status/progress reporting, of medium risk procurement packages/subcontracts.

In this role, you will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, providing you with an opportunity to build on your existing experience within the offshore / upstream oil & gas industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with development of Project level Contracts and Procurement sourcing strategies, plans and bidder list's, in accordance with client requirements.
  • Support the preparation of pre award enquiry forms, expediting of scopes of work, terms and conditions of contract/purchase and related documentation.
  • Review and monitor compliance related to general terms and conditions, with a view to managing risk, conflicts or deviations.
  • Provide guidance to the Project team, ensuring adherence to the requirements of the head contract.
  • Provide effective coordination and communication, aimed at building and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they remain informed and engaged.
  • General administration of Contracts and Procurement pre award activities including RFQ's/tendering, proposal evaluations and preparation of recommendation for award documentation, for approval by the Project Manager(s) and Client representatives.
  • Manage the change control process during post award contract/purchase order management including the development and implementation of variations.
  • Review and manage progress claims and prepare progress payment certificates.
  • Maintaining a variety of registers, accurate record keeping and providing input to various program reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with the wider SCM, HSE and Quality teams throughout the purchase order/contract management life cycle.
  • Supports contractor/supplier prequalification of new suppliers in accordance with WOODs supplier onboarding processes activities, coordinating input from other disciplines as appropriate.
  • Ensuring compliance to Project execution plan(s) and overall, the WOOD Supply-Chain Policies and Procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS

As a key member of the SCM Team, you will have or be able to demonstrate the following.
  • Educated to Degree level (desirable), or a vocational equivalent qualification and/or qualified by experience.
  • Demonstrated 3-5 years applicable Resources Industry experience, or similar.
  • Broad knowledge of Supply Chain Principles and techniques.
  • Experience with Industry forms of subcontracts.
  • Sound knowledge/experience with commercial evaluations, negotiations and terms & conditions of contracts.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of commercial positions imposed by Head Contracts.
  • Strong PC skills and well-versed in a variety of ERP systems and software programs.
