Sr Advanced SW Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technology specialist who can play a critical role in developing and implementing applications on our IoT platform. This role involves in evaluation of existing in-house platforms and determining their feasibility before considering new solutions. The ideal candidate should have experience in development of flexible, model-driven architectures that enable seamless integrations, low-code/no-code extensibility, and a dynamic object/data model to support various relationships across entities.

The platform will involve IoT, real-time data processing, and event-driven architectures to support device onboarding, monitoring, and control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop and maintain full-stack applications using Core Java, React.js in Niagara framework's eco system.
• Define a model-driven, extensible, scalable, cost-efficient, reusable, and secure system for real-time monitoring of critical assets, driving operational efficiency, and building analytics.
• Establish design patterns & guidelines, and best practices for product development
• Critically review system requirements, detailed design, test design, code, and test cases
• Evaluate capabilities of available systems and platforms and define necessary customization or new developments required to implement requirements
• Oversee the development of critical system elements and guide development teams to deliver the agreed scope built right the first time
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, security best practices, and data privacy regulations
• Evaluate technology trends in IoT, AI, and ML and incorporate them into the product

Required Skills:

• Expert and in-depth knowledge in Core JAVA and object-oriented programming skills
• Expert in developing multithreading applications and real time data processing methodologies.
• Expert in wiring Java script applications
• Expert in designing an application from scratch
• Expert in creating detailed design documentation and different JAVA design /architectural patterns
• Expert in debugging the code and problem-solving
• Expert with test-driven development using Junit, Mockito, etc..
• Expert in all stages of software development lifecycle
• Expert in writing reusable Java libraries
• Expert in writing clean, readable Java code and supporting/maintaining existing code
• Expert understanding of JVM, its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
• Proficient in continuous integration tools like Bamboo, Ant, Gradle , Git, Jenkins or GitHub Actions for automation
• Proficient with Agile Software Development
• Niagara framework expertise is added advantage

• Proficiency in IoT protocols like MQTT, CoAP, WebSockets, HTTP/REST, and OPC-UA
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
• Experience in managing large-scale distributed systems with high availability and performance
• Exposure to workflow automation tools (e.g., Camunda, Appian, OutSystems), digital twin, GIS/mapping solutions (e.g., OpenLayers, CesiumJS) and low-code/no-code frameworks is a plus
• Knowledge of AI/ML for predictive analytics
