Join a team recognized for leadership, innovation and diversity
Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, and products and technologies. You will design products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, testing, you will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement and will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements. Knowledge of electrical characteristics relevant to product design is considered a valuable asset
Essential Technical Skills / Knowledge:
NPI/Product Development: Demonstrate a strong understanding of the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Development Life Cycle. Utilize product design skills to address complex problems, leveraging analytical capabilities.
Mechanical Design Knowledge: Expertise designing of various mechanical elements, including springs and ratchet mechanisms, based on first principles
CAD and Analysis Tools: Experience with analysis tools such as ANSYS and Creo mechanisms is advantageous. Create solid, surface and sheet metal cad files in SolidWorks and Creo while producing detailed drawings.
Tolerance Analysis: Conduct tolerance analysis and have a solid grasp of drafting standards, particularly ASME 14.5M, DIN, and BSS.
Manufacturing Processes: Understand different manufacturing processes, including plastic injection molding, metal parts machining, casting, sheet metal processes, and joining methods (welding/riveting). Basic tool design exposure is essential.
Material Selection: Demonstrate expertise in material selection, including engineering plastics, rubber, and metals. Familiarity with mechanical hardware selection, such as screws, gaskets, O-rings, and other sealing elements, is required.
Six Sigma Methodology: Exposure to Six Sigma methodology, statistical methods, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Engineering Change Management: Experience in managing Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO), as well as working with Oracle or other MRP tools.
Regulatory Compliance: Work experience with regulatory-driven products, including compliance with ASTM electrical & OSHA standards.
