Technical Product Manager - Test Software
The Product Manager (PM) within the Software BU plays a critical role in defining and prioritizing the features and functionalities of NI's Test software products to ensure they align with business goals and meet the needs of customers! The PM collaborates closely with customers, development teams, and other key roles to drive the successful delivery of valuable features and workflows within NI's flagship application software products!
As a PM for Test software, you'll solve complex problems that our customers experience in their workflows, with a focus on our Electronics, Electromechanical and Embedded SW Test application areas. Every day you'll work with a highly collaborative team across R&D, the Business Units and several other functions to achieve our business goals and continually improve the experience for our customers. You will work on high impact projects as the Test Software team works to bring NI's software vision to life in our products. A successful Test Software Product Manager will define and implement product capabilities which are easy to sell, easy to deliver outcome based added value to customers, and add to BUs' profitability.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Understand the market trends, competitive landscape carefully and with the in-depth understanding of our existing product, build a product vision and prioritize the new features and requirements
- Act as a domain expert and advocate/implements the standard methodologies with the development team
- Understand the individual customer requirements carefully and build the Functional specifications, Use cases, mock-ups and other documents required for the development team to get going. Explain functional requirements to the development team
- Make sure that the solution that is designed and developed effectively meets the business goals of the end user
- Validate/test the newly developed features and their impact on existing features. Demonstrate these new features to key team members and get their feedback
- Work with UX team to create a pleasant user experience
- Act as the hub of the customers for the application, collaborating with the customers, sales, consulting and development teams
- Act as an SME to reviews the training material and product documentation
- Supports BU Business Management in marketing and sales strategies including pricing, sales enablement, and customer training.
- Help Sales, Solutions Marketing, CCS and BU teams to support RFPs, RFQs, ongoing implementations and customer demos (preparation / delivery)
- As SME, act as the first respondent for any functional queries or issues from internal and external teams
For This Role, You Will Need:
- 2+ years of experience in Product Management or Business Management
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder. WE will not sponsor a Visa
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Strong communication with ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering strategy and value that will get results.
- Clear understanding of project goals and priorities.
- Able to take ambiguous plans and turn them into clear action plans.
- Ability to self-drive and define work.
- Strong collaboration in and outside of project teams.
- Can influence without authority.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Travel - up to 25% to global sites and customer locations as needed.
