Position Summary
Performs atmospheric corrosion inspections and cathodic protection monitoring on CPS Energy's gas system. Atmospheric corrosion inspections include visually inspecting exposed gas piping such as residential and commercial meter sets or regulator stations. Cathodic protection duties include performing cathodic protection voltage reads at test points throughout the gas system. Other duties include assisting Corrosion Control Journeymen in troubleshooting the gas cathodic protection system.

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to work outdoors with extensive walking
Possess a valid driver's license with a history of a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations
Ability to read and interpret GIS maps for locations of facilities
Ability to exercise good judgement and follow CPS Energy procedures
Ability to utilize handheld equipment for read and inspection documenting
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling

Working Environment
Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi- functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business events. After hours work may be required.
Physical Demands
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Creates appropriate orders based on results of visual inspections.
- Mitigates minor atmospheric corrosion or cathodic protection issues found by utilizing specified paint or coating products.
- Report any abnormal operating conditions found on meter sets or piping (leaks, buried stopcocks, hazardous conditions etc.).
- Utilize handheld unit to document voltage readings from cathodic protection test points to ensure proper cathodic protection on CPS Energy's steel gas system.
- Report issues found with cathodic protection test points. (i.e.. broken lids, broken wires etc.).
- Perform inspections and associated work in residential, commercial and/or industrial settings.
- Driving necessary from one work location to another.
- Extensive walking may be necessary to complete cathodic protection or atmospheric corrosion inspection routes.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to include wearing of Personal Protective Equipment and reporting all safety concerns.
- Assist Corrosion Control Journeymen or Technicians in troubleshooting the cathodic protection system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
