TheHoneywell Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) reduces the risk ofcontrolled flight into terrain (CFIT) by providing flight crews with timely,accurate information about terrain and obstacles in the area. The system usesvarious aircraft inputs and aninternal database, applying proprietary alerting algorithms to predict and warnflight crews of potential conflicts with obstacles or terrain. Additionalfeatures include SmartRunway and SmartLanding systems, developed to help flightcrews avoid potential runway incursions and excursions

As a Sr Embedded Software Engr within Honeywell Communication, Navigation & Surveillance (CN&S) you will be responsible for developingand implementing advanced software solutions for our EGPWS (EnhancedGround Proximity Warning Systems) product lines. Youwill work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate with cross-functionalteams to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Deer Valley, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative software solutions that will enhance the performance and safety of aircraft systems. You will work on projects that involve advanced algorithms, data analytics, and real-time systems. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our products, as well as deploying new products and functions that enhance safety within the aviation industry, ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement advanced embedded software solutions for EGPWS (Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning) systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to defineproject requirements
  • Deliver high-quality softwaresolutions
  • Contribute to the development of innovative softwaresolutions for avionics systems
  • Ensure the highest level of quality and customersatisfaction in software deliverable
  • Able to independently manage and lead mid-size projects fromstart to finish
  • Able to decompose high-level systems requirements intolow-level software requirements.
  • Create, maintain andqualify software development and verification tools.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 5+ years of experience in Embedded software development
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, etc

WE VALUE

  • Experience with embedded software and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience in developing software for aerospace orsafety-critical systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with real-time systems and embeddedsoftware development
  • Knowledge of version control systems, specifically Git / Bitbucket.
  • Strong understanding of DOORS or similar requirementsmanagement system.
  • Strong knowledge of Software lifecycle and Certification aspects of SW components.
  • Able to read and write specifications to create software requirements.
  • Knowledge of advanced algorithms and data analytics is of value
  • Understanding of RTCA and ARINC industry standards is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
