JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that our operations at Richards Spur Quarry are running smoothly and that no shortages or excesses occur. This role will monitor inventory levels, manage and update inventory databases, perform inventory audits, and train staff to adhere to inventory control procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee the levels of inventory and make purchase orders when needed
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily cycle counts of various inventory assets
  • Investigate, identify, and reconcile cycle count discrepancies (shortages as well as overages)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Ensure product stock is in line with demand and sales patterns
  • Plan and implement inventory control procedures and best practices
  • Lead, train, and mentor inventory control staff, ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Promote and enforce strict adherence to workplace safety standards and guidelines
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments
  • Perform lead time analysis to create new efficiencies that increase profitability, decrease downtime, and improve customer satisfaction
  • Manage and maintain the inventory budget
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to maintain stock levels
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Act as the primary liaison to all vendors to develop information for cost justification of capital improvements and optimization of operating processes and procedures
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in a related field with a willingness to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or other related field or a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or other related field preferred
  • At least 3 years' experience in warehousing, inventory management, or equivalent other experience required
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • 5S (Five S) and/or Lean Methodology experience preferred
  • Reliability certifications preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Good leadership skills and the ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships
  • Have a positive attitude and proactive approach towards our safety program
  • General understanding of blasting, crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated processing equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Problem solving skills to manage multiple projects while overseeing the day-to-day duties
  • Understanding of inventory management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software
  • Strong analytical and math skills
  • Ability to manage conflict and motivate employees
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing shop floor applications
  • Demonstrable abilities in reporting, data analysis, and trends discovery for providing measurable insights
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to travel to various field locations for work purposes
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including swing shift, graveyard shift, and weekends as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100 lbs. of weight frequently
  • Ability to work near, around, or on light and heavy equipment
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to use vibration producing tools frequently
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting
  • Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces
