Your role and responsibilities
The project execution team is at the heart of our organization. It meets and exceeds customer expectations while contributing to building a profitable and sustainable future. ABB Measurement & Analysis in Quebec is a world leader in spectroscopy. Our contract engineering service is the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and global weather forecasting. Our plant is also recognized for its expertise in developing and manufacturing various products that meet several industrial analysis needs daily. By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Quebec, you will actively contribute to our clients' projects, as well as to the research and development of our technology. You will be part of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team. As part of an engineering contract project, you will be the project manager for projects executed by external suppliers for which you will be responsible. You will negotiate, draft, and ensure the execution of contracts by suppliers. You will successfully execute projects of varying complexities with budgets ranging from $50k to $10M. Attached to the project office, you will ensure the delivery of projects by rigorously orchestrating communications and monitoring all stakeholders. Under your leadership, external suppliers will be engaged to develop, within budget, cutting-edge products that meet strict quality criteria and comply with the demanding requirements of our clientele, including the Canadian and European space agencies. • Manage a project within a large-scale project. Plan, manage costs and risks. • Monitor and control project execution with alignment to the main project for WBS, overall planning, risks, and costs. • Manage the relationship with the external supplier throughout the project. Starts during the submission phase by ABB, continues through execution, and ends with contractual closure. • Draft the main contract and various documents: NDA, IP, SOW, WBS, etc. • Negotiate contracts engaging suppliers for execution. • Manage changes, delays, claims, and disputes with suppliers. Align these aspects with the main project manager. • Handle the relationship with departments: legal, procurement, and project control to ensure execution in compliance with ABB policies. • Manage with key project team members: Systems Engineer, QA, and technical leaders.

Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or other relevant field.
- At least 10 years of experience in project management, contract management, subcontracting, and negotiation. Ideally in aerospace or defense.
- Experience in drafting and managing technical SOW, WBS, master planning, and payment milestones.
- Experience with large-scale and complex projects.
- International experience.
- Experience at all stages of the lifecycle, from submission to closure.
- Experience in negotiation and contractual amendments.
- Essential bilingualism in English and French. French is required. English is necessary to communicate with clients outside Quebec on a regular basis.
- Asset: Experience with projects involving the European Space Agency.
- Asset: Project management certification (PMP).
