JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY



The Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of all materials required for our manufacturing operations, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards. As a key member of our procurement team, the Buyer will collaborate with various stakeholders, including production, engineering, and finance, to optimize inventory levels and support the overall success of our organization.



PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source and purchase materials, components, and services required for our San Antonio, TX and Wichita, KS manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensures timely receipt of ordered material to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Secure suppliers of materials and services including logistics that meet quality, price, and delivery requirements.
  • Manage category spending for sister facilities as assigned.
  • Process intercompany transfers and purchase orders.
  • Negotiates agreements for terms and price.
  • Maintain supplier insurance file.
  • Assist with annual bid packages.
  • Handle account discrepancies and insure proper payment of bills.
  • Wear appropriate PPE in required areas.
  • Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Previous experience as a buyer in a manufacturing related environment.
  • Background and experience in logistics a plus.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or control; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Travel less than 20%.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • CPIM Certification or equal preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing ERP systems.
