United Dairy Farmers, Inc. is seeking a Manager Petroleum Operation & Logistics. This is a salaried position located in Lebanon, OH.
The incumbent is responsible for oversight of the United Dairy Farmers, Inc. Prescott Petroleum transportation operation including Bulk Fuel Plant and CDL Hazmat trucks. Responsible for insuring safe and efficient deliveries of fuel to UDF convenience stores and other wholesale fuel customers. Develops logistics strategy and tactics that optimize routes, fuel loads, cost and safety. Serves as knowledge expert in fuel transportation, overseeing regular deliveries for over 174 UDF convenience stores. Identifies opportunities to continuously improve fuel logistics delivery processes by analyzing sales/store network trends, monitoring competitor activity, and measuring impacts on UDF's network.
Oversees a team with approximately 37 UDF associates comprising 33 CDL Hazmat certified drivers and a support staff of 4.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• General oversight involving daily/monthly analysis including driver loads, sales and stores trends, store gas pricing ensuring and optimizing fuel deliveries and routes
• Ensures trucks, tankers, bulk plant and other equipment have regular repair, maintenance and associated reporting. Reviews regular Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR).
• Partners with Store Maintenance/Gas Maintenance Techs to resolve any fuel related maintenance issues (i.e. report probe or gas related issues).
• Develops, refines and adjusts dispatch schedules to best balance, loads, safety, fuel sales, route efficiency & headcount
• Responsible for oversight of all DOT regulations including HOS (Hours of Service) tracking, required random drug tests, MCS-150 reporting required logs, and other federal, state and local requirements including licensing
• Develops and maintains the driver safety program. Performs proactive training as well as performs internal investigations into safety/accident-related incidents.
• Negotiate with vendors and partners regarding contracted services or sales including trucks, tankers, equipment and 3PL carrier purchases
• Partners with Accounting to propose the annual Prescott budget including internal freight rates for UDF locations and freight rates for wholesale customers. Actively monitors P&L statement
• Partners with IT on Prescott technology needs including TMW transit management system.
People Management:
• Responsible for providing direct reports with timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing associates to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance associate career growth.
• Developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding associates for accomplishments.
• Incumbent also holds his direct reports accountable for performing the same functions and activities with their direct reports if applicable.
• Responsible for growing associate engagement within the team as measured by regular engagement surveys.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- Four to six years of experience in managing petroleum/hazmat logistics operations, preferably in convenience retail at a manager level or above
