Overview
An opportunity has become available for a commercially-minded Hydrocarbon Accounting Analyst to support key business operations within a dynamic energy environment. This role involves managing the full contract-to-cash cycle for hydrocarbon sales, supporting commercial decision-making, and ensuring accurate data processing and reporting in line with international standards. Main Responsibilities

Generate accurate invoices and maintain robust transactional records to support commercial decisions and contractual compliance.

Lead month-end close processes, including preparation of material balance statements, ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulatory standards.

Execute the contract-to-cash process, ensuring full revenue recognition for hydrocarbon sales in accordance with accounting procedures.

Reconcile payments for hydrocarbons received or purchased from third parties against agreed pricing and contractual terms.

Monitor and manage the full lifecycle of oil and gas—from production to sale—ensuring accurate tracking for commercial optimisation.

Validate and process data to support accurate apportionment of ownership, revenue entitlement, and buyer sales quantities.

Provide critical commercial insight to joint venture partners and buyers, enabling real-time assessment of performance and market positioning.

Carry out accounting tasks in accordance with recognised international standards (e.g. ASTM, API).

Perform infrastructure capacity and throughput calculations to support business planning and stakeholder reporting.

Support external and internal audits with clear, auditable documentation and data trails.

Collaborate with commercial teams to inform day-to-day decisions related to hydrocarbon sales and revenue forecasting.

Ensure accuracy and reliability of data, system interfaces, and integrated reporting environments.

Deliver material balance reports for refinery and petrochemical operations in line with Hydrocarbon Management standards.

Liaise with production planning, marketing teams, and customers to confirm daily sales and production reports.

Prepare material balance and sales summary reports to support performance analysis and strategic planning.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and reporting, and support implementation initiatives.
Experience & Background

In-depth understanding of hydrocarbon products, unit operations, and process flows.

Familiarity with ASTM and API standards, cargo accounting, and hydrocarbon logistics.

Prior experience with SAP (preferably IS-Oil) and other integrated IT systems.

Exposure to international standards in hydrocarbon accounting and energy sector operations.
