JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory & Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for strategic planning, direction, and coordination of all inventory and warehouse functions, as well as materials planning activities. This role focuses on achieving business objectives, maintaining internal controls to safeguard departmental assets, ensuring the reliability of financial information, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure on-time delivery of all orders at the lowest cost while meeting customer expectations.
- Supervise the Inventory/Warehouse team to ensure assignments are maintained, communications with internal departments are effective, company procedures and policies are followed, goods are available for production activities, shipments are on schedule, and inventory levels are minimized.
- Oversee material receiving, including inspection, resolving procurement discrepancies, and ensuring products are received into the Omega ERP system within 48 hours of delivery.
- Coordinate material requirements and planning with manufacturing departments proactively.
- Manage consumable inventory and oversee procurement requisitions as needed.
- Implement controls to manage inventory levels (raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods) and achieve working capital targets.
- Including sub inventory structure and locators throughout designated storage areas
- Oversee regular inventory cycle counts and physical counts as required. Collaborate with management to address discrepancies and identify solutions.
- Manage the Bill & Hold process within the Omega System, if applicable.
- Address obsolete, excess, and surplus inventory; collaborate with departments to utilize products, or follow company policy for disposal and scrap.
- Coordinate with customers and carriers to manage product shipments and pickups.
- Resolve challenges and interface with all organizational levels to ensure objectives are met.
- Promote a safe work environment, collaborating with the HSE Manager to address complications and implement improvements. Report any incidents immediately to the HSE department.
- Participate in resource planning discussions to meet production requirements efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Oversee recruitment, performance evaluations, promotions, recognition, and disciplinary actions for employees. Conduct training on new roles, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Approve employee timecards through the NOV timekeeping system as required.
- Foster a team-oriented culture where employees are valued, trusted, and accountable, with a shared focus on collective results.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure business objectives are clearly understood and administered.
- Evaluate and optimize systems and processes, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs, including quality, finance, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Ensure area processes comply with the Quality Management System; work with the QA team to improve processes and submit non-conformances in a timely manner.
- Participate in emergency response activities, including incident-command roles, organizing evacuations, and providing first aid if necessary.
- Analyze data to forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly.
- Optimize warehouse layout and material flow to maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, engineering, and sales teams to streamline materials planning and inventory control.
- Plan for warehouse expansion or handling increased inventory volumes in alignment with company growth.
- Address sustainability initiatives, such as waste management and eco-friendly inventory practices.
- Maintain budget responsibilities for inventory and warehouse operations, including cost controls and forecasting.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of managerial/leadership experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or supply chain roles.
- Proficiency with computer hardware and software, including MS Office (Excel, Word), MS Project, and Adobe.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their functionality.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and motivational skills.
- Certification to operate light-duty forklifts and equipment (e.g., Lull, Man-Lift).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive motions and heavy lifting.
- Familiarity with tools like pallet jacks and lift trucks; ability to climb and operate warehouse equipment.
- Flexible scheduling availability.
- Experience working with diverse teams and departments.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Factory environment includes exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Travel less than 10%.
