Aspirus is seeking a Utilization Review Nurse to join our team!
The Utilization Management (UM) Nurse monitors, evaluates and assists in the maintenance and improvement of efficient utilization of hospital resources through performance of pre-admission/admission and continued stay medical record reviews. The UM Nurse ensures that the program reduces and eliminates service delays and non-acute hospital days, monitors the quality of documentation and services provided, and makes recommendations for improvement. Review determinations include, but are not limited to:
HOURS: Full Time or .8 FTE, 64 hours every pay period. Monday-Friday with hours between 8am - 4:30pm and will include weekend/holiday rotation

Experience/Qualifications
- Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Maintains education and specialty certification requirements specific to the department scope of service.
- Previous experience beneficial.
- Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.
- Maintains specialty certification as per department scope of service.
- Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).
- Current Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS), American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification may be required based on primary department.
- Annual accrual of CEUs/continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year.
- The Registered Nurse role at the Stevens Point Campus may be required to obtain additional pyxis training for restocking the pyxis.
