Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will provide strategic legal counsel and uphold the highest standards of integrity within Robotics & Discrete Automation (RA), Eastern Europe. Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Effectively manages legal risks and promotes a culture of integrity across the organization. The position will be based in Warsaw Poland and reporting to the Cluster Lead Counsel South - Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East, RA Business Area. The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: • Providing Legal & Integrity (L&I) related advice to RA Eastern Europe management, serving as a strategic advisor to business stakeholders. • Delivering end-to-end legal services to one or more operating units, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. • Reviewing and negotiating contracts, drafting commercial agreements and other legal documents in collaboration with business stakeholders and L&I colleagues. • Overseeing contract lifecycle management within the Cluster, ensuring proper documentation, risk mitigation, and compliance throughout all stages. • Monitoring legal affairs, including litigations, activity reports, and participating in local strategic business discussions to ensure legal alignment. • Advising management on legally sensitive plans or decisions, as well as interpreting and communicating the business impact of changes in law and regulations. • Handling complex legal matters, identifying risks, external threats, and opportunities, and strategically proposing mitigation strategies. • Supporting Intellectual Property (IP) matters by collaborating with IP stakeholders and applying guidance to protect and manage ABB's IP assets.

Qualifications for the role

• You have 8+ years of experience in commercial law, with a background in contract and corporate law, and effectively support business strategy through legal skills.
• You are qualified in law and admitted to the bar, with a Master's degree in Law, demonstrating a solid academic and professional foundation.
• You are highly skilled in drafting and negotiating contracts, managing litigation, and working with external legal counsel to ensure favorable outcomes and mitigate risk.
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of compliance management, legal advisory, and risk assessment within a corporate environment.
• You have a keen interest in analytical thinking and legal research, and you demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills to build trusted partnerships across the business.
• You are proficient in communicating in Polish and English, both written and spoken, allowing you to work efficiently in a bilingual legal and business context.
