Primary Purpose
Install, repair, and maintain all types of commercial air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment to ensure proper indoor air quality in all district facilities. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD. This role requires extensive technical knowledge and will need extensive experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of large-scale commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Equipment Used
Including but not limited to all types of HVAC hand tools, diagnostic instruments and equipment manufacturer's software. Use of large A-frame step ladders and extension ladders up to 30'. Use of hydraulic scissor lifts, Gantry/chain hoists and lift gates, and all other HVAC related equipment.
Use of sheet metal brakes and cutters.

Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
- High School diploma or GED.
- Texas driver's license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- HVAC License (or equivalent certification per state requirements required.
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair: air- and water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, hot and chilled water systems, low pressure heat and pool boilers, DX-split and packaged systems, air handlers, dual-duct distribution systems, fan-coil units, roof top units, water sourced heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, Variable Frequency Drives and hydronic heating cooling and pool circulation pumps.
- Knowledge of sequences of operation for hot and chill water systems and controls.
- Able to read complex wiring and mechanical diagrams and schematics.
- Working ability to perform sheet metal work.
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems and related software.
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot refrigeration circuits.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic techniques of hand tools, small power tools such as hand drills, refrigeration gauges, multimeters, welding/brazing equipment and proper use of ladders.
- Effective computer skills including basic knowledge of BAS/EMS and work order software systems.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable Commercial and/or Industrial HVAC Service, Repair and Installation experience including: air- and water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, hot and chilled water systems, low pressure heat and pool boilers, DX-split and packaged systems, air handlers, dual-duct distribution systems, fan-coil units, roof top units, water sourced heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, Variable Frequency Drives and hydronic heating cooling and pool circulation pumps.
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience working with Building Automation Systems.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Install, inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC system components, including air- and water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, hot and chilled water systems, low pressure heat and pool boilers, DX-split and packaged systems, air handlers, dual-duct distribution systems, fan-coil units, roof top units, water sourced heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, Variable Frequency Drives and hydronic heating cooling and pool circulation pumps.
- Diagnose and repair complex HVAC system issues, including electrical and refrigerant problems, ensuring minimal downtime for students and staff.
- Conduct system performance tests, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions to improve energy efficiency and system longevity.
- Recommend and assist in scheduling and managing repair projects with contracted vendors when scope is beyond in-house capabilities.
- Recommend supplies, equipment and parts for purchase.
- Mentor and provide guidance to other technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry best practices.
- Supervise HVAC personnel and effectively assign work orders.
- Communicate effectively with staff, facility managers, and project teams to understand needs and provide timely solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, system diagnostics, and inventory usage.
- Schedule and participate in HVAC preventive maintenance program.
- Ensure all work adheres to all applicable local, state, and federal codes and safety regulations.
- Participate in HVAC Department After Hours Emergency On-Call rotation.
- Respond to emergencies after hours, on weekends and holidays with little or no notice.
- Be observant in buildings and report any safety hazards.
- Maintain constant communication with HVAC Supervisor regarding HVAC equipment and systems failures.
