Critical Spare Parts Strategy Lead - Freeport, TX

Our client is seeking a Critical Spare Parts Strategy Lead to work within their facilities located in Freeport, TX, for a long-term assignment.

This role is pivotal in optimizing spare parts strategy and ensuring equipment reliability through robust data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Knowledge

• Understands fundamentals of rotating and electrical equipment
• Reads and interprets P&IDs and electrical one-line diagrams
• Applies knowledge of failure modes, redundancy strategies, and spare parts planning to support reliability

SAP Expertise

• Leverages SAP e quipment and material master data to drive decisions and insights
• Identifies and resolves gaps, inconsistencies, and missing links between equipment and material records
• Collaborates with SAP master data owners to ensure updates reflect validated field data, OEM inputs, and inventory verifications
• Ensures spare parts strategy is accurately reflected in SAP, even when updates are executed by others

Data Analysis & Inventory Reconciliation

• Analyzes, reconciles, and validates large datasets related to equipment and inventory
• Cross-references SAP, BOMs, field data, and OEM documents to ensure data integrity
• Uses Excel proficiently for analysis, list management, and reporting support

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Communicates effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
• Prepares and presents data-driven recommendations to stakeholders
• Engages confidently with OEMs to gather updated BOMs, technical bulletins, and strategic inputs

KPI Development & Reporting

• Designs and implements dashboards to track gap closures and progress against project milestone .

Key Internal Interfaces
Maintenance Team

• Validate field conditions and historical usage
• Support physical inventory reviews and gap assessments

Facilities Engineering

• Confirm equipment specifications and review B OMs
• Provide technical insights and drawing interpretation

SAP / IT Master Data Team

• Update and maintain accuracy of SAP records
• Link materials to equipment for precise planning

Document Control / EDMS

• Archive BOMs , OEM documents, and bulletins
• Ensure documentation is current and easily accessible

Required Experience

• Direct experience in spare parts management, preferably in industrial or energy sectors
• Proven ability to lead or coordinate cross-functional projects.
• Hands-on SAP experience (maintenance and materials modules)
• Strong familiarity with OEM engagement for BOM updates, spare part sourcing, and service coordination.
