As part of the world's largest independent flight test organization supporting both US-Government and Commercial Agencies, the highly talented and experienced KBR aircrew services team has provided over 45 continuous years of Aircrew Project and Flight Test support to Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. The selected applicant will be working for the long-term incumbent and leader in flight test. In this role, you will work within the NAVAIR test community composed of government, military, contractor and industry personnel while supporting flight test.

T he offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:

Aviation Deputy Program Manager

In this role, you will work within the NAVAIR test community composed of government, military, contractor and industry personnel while supporting flight test.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Supports tasking at Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL), Patuxent River, MD, with additional responsibilities at Naval Test Wing Pacific (NTWP), China Lake and Pt Mugu, CA.
- Serves as Deputy Program Manager for the NTWL/P Aircrew Services Contract, with additional responsibilities as a Senior Technical Advisor for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and/or Airborne Tactical Electronic Warfare programs.
- Assists with all facets of contract management, including oversight of all administrative, financial and technical responsibilities, as well as compliance with internal quality control measures. Focus areas include flight operations and aviation safety oversight, compliance with DCMA 8210-1D, interface with customer flight test leadership, aircrew recruiting, support for military developmental test and evaluation projects for land-based and shipboard fixed wing, rotary wing, tilt-rotor and unmanned systems.
- Works closely with KBR Director of Flight Operations, Program Manager, Chief Pilot and Aviation Safety Manager to pursue Flight Department goals and initiatives.
- Acts as a supervisor for select flight department managers.
- Additional duties as Senior Technical Advisor will include application of technical and tactical operator expertise to advise program management and/or flight test team leadership regarding pursuit of mission critical objectives, with emphasis in Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Airborne Tactical Electronic Warfare.
- Most work will be conducted on-site at KBR's Lexington Park, MD facility. Some domestic travel (approximately 10%) will be required in support of flight test leadership responsibilities, customer technical advisor support and support of internal KBR new business pursuits.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering/Technical Degree preferred).
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressively complex experience in Department of Defense aviation/aerospace acquisition programs, including but not limited to systems engineering, product development, test and evaluation, sustainment and program management.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in airborne test and evaluation of military aircraft and/or installed systems.
- Minimum of 1500 flight hours in military aircraft
- Graduation from a U.S. military Test Pilot School full length course
- Past or current designation as military aircraft commander or mission commander.
- Ability to operate independently to effectively satisfy job requirements without direct supervision.
- Effective communications, both oral and written, and to operate in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
- Must have an active Top Secret security clearance.
- Applicant selected will be subject to a ongoing government security investigation and must maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Skills:
- Developmental flight test experience
- Current or former designation as a NATOPS Instructor/Evaluator
- Advanced Degree (M.S Engineering/Technical or MBA)
- Aviation Safety School - long course or Commanding Officer's course
- NAVAIR Program Management experience
- DAWIA Advanced Program Management certification
- Command-level military aircrew flight test supervisory / leadership experience
- Experience with strategy/CONOPS development for integration of unmanned aviation assets into the Carrier Air Wing.
