KBR is seeking a Construction Supervisor - E&I for a 28/28 rotational position based in Iraq.
Roles and Responsibilities
The E&I Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems in construction projects. This role includes coordinating and planning E&I tasks, supervising electricians, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and building codes.
Role Overview:
• Enhancing construction safety by minimizing on-site exposure through modularization, standardization, and off-plot construction.
• Contributing to brownfield construction strategies and planning initiatives for projects pre-FID.
• Identifying and resolving construction challenges, monitoring on-site productivity, and advising the Construction Manager on opportunities for improvement.
• Overseeing brownfield construction planning initiatives for post-FID projects.
• Providing input into design enhancements, contracting strategies, and execution planning, ensuring optimal constructability while balancing HSE, cost, schedule, and quality considerations.
• Collaborating with the Project Engineer and EPCM Construction Management Team to develop a construction strategy and execution plan, including cost and schedule management.
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Planning and scheduling electrical installations and repairs.
• Supervising and overseeing the work of electricians and construction teams.
• Coordinating activities with other supervisors, subcontractors, and work crews to maintain seamless operations.
• Identifying and implementing measures to enhance productivity and quality.
• Maintaining accurate records of daily operations and personnel activities, using daily logbooks.
• Managing and mitigating construction risks.
• Ordering and maintaining E&I supplies and equipment inventory.
• Inspecting and testing E&I systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety regulations.
Accountabilities & Expectations
• Ensuring close coordination with the Project Engineer and EPCM Construction Management Team to align with overall project scope, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Ensuring project deliverables from Engineering and Procurement align with the construction and handover sequence.
• Advocating for cold work, modularization, and off-plot construction approaches to minimize HSSE exposure on-site.
• Ensuring that final designs incorporate construction risk assessments, balancing risk and economic benefits through Constructability Reviews.
• Proven experience as a Power Generation Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the energy sector.
Education, Skills & Experience
Qualifications:
• BSc. in Engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, or a related discipline).
Experience & Skill Set:
• 10-12 years of experience in Oil & Gas project design and engineering.
• 6-8 years of experience in Power Generation for Oil & Gas project delivery, preferably in an umbrella contract construction leadership role within a multidisciplinary workforce.
• Proficiency in productivity measurement and resource-based planning (Level 4 Scheduling).
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with demonstrated supervisory experience.
