The Opportunity:
KBR's MSP Aerospace team is looking for an experienced Project Risk Manager to work within our Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) IWP in support of exciting defence projects for the Commonwealth of Australia.
Under limited supervision and reporting to the program executive, the Project Risk Manager is responsible for undertaking qualitative and quantitative risk identification, analysis, assessment and governance reporting across of a range of project activities within the capability acquisition and sustainment lifecycle in the GWEO Enterprise.
This role will be required to coordinate risk identification, management and mitigation strategies and support the executive in governance reporting across the GWEO Enterprise.
This position involves performing routine activities and delivering accurate, timely, and relevant information, through collaboration with various departments, to ensure seamless coordination and proactive risk management under a compressed delivery schedule.
This role is located in Canberra, ACT.

Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
- Implementing the Defence risk and benefit management framework for the Guided Weapons Production Capability (GWPC), Stage 2B project, including the identification and assessment of risks within the approved risk management systems
- Coordinating and supporting stakeholders to undertake and perform risk identification, assessment and categorisation, in accordance with Defence policy
- Analyse existing risks and opportunities and identifying and documenting changes to the risk or benefit profile that may influence the program
- Utilise the Defence approved risk management platform, Predict! and other(s) as required, due to the nature of the risk
- Synthesising risk and benefit reports for presentation to GWPCB executives and other stakeholders in accordance with the governance cadence of the program
- Educate stakeholders and embedding risk ownership across the Enterprise
- Develop plans, documents and reports on risks and benefits management
- Escalate risks and mitigation strategies to the appropriate risk authority
- Advise on policy development, plans, and risk mitigation strategies
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
- Relevant qualifications or proven industry experience
- In-depth understanding of risk management methodologies, tools, and frameworks - Predict! experience is essential
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated initiative and capacity to solve problems
- Experience with Acquisition and Sustainment risk management
- Experience managing and governing risk procedures
Desirable:
- Ability to manage the risk and benefits management process and the ability to work autonomously, as required
- Experience in the Defence domain, GWEO Enterprise is an advantage
- Previous experience as a risk practitioner
- Previous experience utilising restricted and protected risk management tools and platforms
