This position reports to

Division Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Automation/Robotics expert to join our team and support our digitalization initiative. In this role, you will drive standardization, innovation, and operational excellence in Machine Integration, Automation, and Robotics across manufacturing operations globally. You will facilitate the adoption and effective usage of the Manufacturing Digitalization Platform (MDP), ensuring data integration and promoting Industry 4.0 initiatives for improved productivity and quality. The work model for the role is: hybrid ; #LI-Hybrid The role is contributing to the IEC LV Motors division in globally. The location of the role will be Finland (Vaasa), India (Faridabad, Bangalore) or China (Shanghai). Willingness to travel is required (up to 30%). You will be mainly accountable for: • Manufacturing Digitalization & Integration: Configuring and maintaining the Manufacturing Digitalization Platform (MDP) to enable seamless real-time data integration using industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus). • Automation, Robotics & Emerging Technologies: Developing standards for automation, robotics, and PLC programming while evaluating and scaling IoT and Industry 4.0 solutions globally. • Cybersecurity & System Performance: Ensuring robust cybersecurity across integrated systems, optimizing platform performance, resolving complex issues, and minimizing operational disruptions during upgrades. • Collaboration, Training & Strategic Guidance: Acting as a liaison between vendors and operational teams, securing stakeholder alignment, providing training, and driving scalable digitalization strategies across global locations.

Qualifications for the role

  • 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, robotics integration, and PLC programming.
  • Expertise in standard industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet or others) and real-time data management platforms.
  • Degree in Automation Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming (preferably C# / .Net)
  • Proven ability to pilot and globally scale innovative technology solutions in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in creating comprehensive technical standards, documentation, and training frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and project management skills, able to engage effectively with diverse global teams.
  • Experience working in global, cross-functional teams in complex organizations.
  • Experience in project management is a plus.
  • Fluent English language skills.
