LAN Network Engineer

This position will be predominately focused on the design and engineering of services within our growing and continuously evolving LAN Services portfolio, with a primary responsibility on the Managed WLAN, RF/WIFI Surveys, and Managed LAN Services (including Managed DHCP and IPAM Services).

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Working with Managed LAN/WLAN Services Manager on the evaluation of new technologies, growth, development, of LAN Services that align with service roadmaps
- Working in a cross functional team to develop LAN Services requirements, standards, deliverables, and Work with other projects and services as needed
- Working in a cross functional team to ensure LAN Services are designed to ensure a high level of quality and consistency using existing and new technologies
- Work with the Service Delivery & Operations group to train, support, and educate so they delivery services with a high level of quality, reliability, and consistency across the enterprise
- Work with other managed service teams to develop designs, standards, procedures, and training to ensure compatibility and support within LAN Services
- Stay up-to-date and work with new and emerging technologies to help influence the direction feature releases of LAN Services
- Ability to work alone and prioritize time to meet assigned task, goals, and issue resolution

For This Role, You Will Need:
- BA/BS in Information Systems or related area required
- Advanced understanding and ability to design WIFI Radio networks, ability to perform predictive surveys & post install surveys utilizing Ekahau Software
- Work with RF Survey vendors to ensure radio signals meet expected Emerson standards and resolve any differences or conflicts
- Ability to communicate and organize RF requirements with others for Managed WLAN Service implementation
- Ability to remotely diagnose complex RF signal issue impacting WIFI
- Provide top level design expertise for provisioning projects to ensure alignment with LAN/WLAN Services for greenfield, brownfield, acquisitions, and custom designs
- Provide guidance and expertise of Build of Material list (parts list) for LAN Services (WLAN & LAN) projects as needed driven by complexity
- Advanced knowledge of LAN and WLAN technologies such ethernet protocols, multi-gigabit networks, fiber networks, 802.11x, wireless access via Flex Connect and WLC, end to end wireless QOS through WMM, RF knowledge
- Experienced in troubleshooting and implementing Cisco Catalyst line of products
- Advanced Layer 2 and 3 design aspects for enterprise LANs
- Ability to design and troubleshoot high availability LAN and Wireless LANS
- Working knowledge of LAN media types and ability to diagnose escalated last level support issues remotely
- Ability to collaborate with other engineers, technical specialist, and vendors to provide feedback for improvements and designs with services
- Advanced knowledge of IP, routing, and subnetting
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

- Cisco certifications such as CCNA are a plus.
- Previous experience working in a global environment.
- Ekahau certification (or similar) is highly desirable.
