Job Purpose

The Construction Superintendent (Civil & Structural) provides technical and construction oversight for the execution of the CO₂ Sequestration Project. This includes supervision of civil, steel structural, and architectural works across multiple project sites and corridors. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, safety standards, quality benchmarks, schedules, and cost targets, while coordinating daily with contractors and internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless project delivery.

Key Job Accountabilities

1. Review Work Plans:
   Evaluate construction sequences, pre-task planning, and method statements for safety, feasibility, and execution efficiency.

2. Site Representation:
   Act as the primary Company representative for monitoring and coordinating civil/structural site activities of the ESW/EPC Contractor and subcontractors. Track progress, identify concerns, and implement mitigating actions.

3. Safety & Compliance:
   Ensure all construction activities comply with QatarEnergy LNG’s safety rules, standards, and permit-to-work processes. Participate in site SHE programs and incident investigations.

4. Interface Coordination:
   Liaise with Field Engineering and QA/QC teams to ensure inspection results align with EPC Contract requirements.

5. Completions Support:
   Attend PMC and CLT completions meetings to assist with Mechanical Completion, punch list clearance, and commissioning/start-up readiness.

6. Construction Monitoring:
   Maintain visibility over earthworks, civil construction, and steel structure fabrication in alignment with priority completion schedules.

7. Performance Metrics:
   Work closely with other construction superintendents to develop and maintain construction and completions performance metrics.

8. Execution Leadership:
   Lead construction activities across civil, structural, and architectural disciplines. Identify and resolve site issues in coordination with project leadership.

9. Lessons Learned Integration:
   Implement relevant lessons from previous projects and actively capture lessons learned for the current project to improve construction execution and commissioning transition.

10. Operations Engagement:
    Collaborate with QatarEnergy LNG Operations teams to align construction execution plans with operational readiness.

11. Construction Safety Practices:
    Apply expert knowledge of safe construction practices, including Work Management Systems (WMS) and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years in large-scale construction projects within the Oil & Gas industry

  • Exposure to construction, installation, fabrication, execution, hook-up, and completion activities

• Technical Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of civil, structural, and architectural construction methods

  • Familiarity with design codes, specifications, safety standards, and risk management in LNG and sour gas environments

  • Strong understanding of offshore and onshore construction operations

• Business & Execution Knowledge:

  • Experience with Oil & Gas operators, EPC contractors, or heavy industrial construction firms

  • Track record of working within large, multi-disciplinary teams in complex projects

  • Familiarity with brownfield execution challenges and the integration of new facilities into existing infrastructure
