There is an immediate opening for Principal Technology Manager - Hydroprocessing within UPT-Refining Business Group. The position will be based in any of UOP offices (Rosemont, Bracknell & Gurgaon).
This position reports to the global Refining - HP, FCC, Alky, Treating & Heavy Oil Sr. Manager and plays a key and integral role in demand generation & project development, developing technical proposals, improving technical sales infrastructure & knowledge management, and spearheading the sales support efforts within Hydroprocessing product lines.
The job role demands commitment with deep technical understanding and business acumen which will create value propositions for our customers in innovative ways. This role will connect with many stakeholders (business, sales, technical service, engineering, legal, marketing, breakthrough initiative partners, etc.) to ensure value for customer keeping in mind future drive towards better environment friendly & sustainable solutions, internal alignment and profitable business growth that enables the power of UOP HP technologies. This role will be part of a highly collaborative global team focused on driving growth in a key strategic area for Honeywell: "Innovate and Create Value for Customers", "Win Together" and "Build Exceptional Talent" are key behaviors to succeed in this role.
Position Accountabilities include:
• Significantly increase UOP's share of Hydroprocessing technology licensor selections.
• Be recognized as technical leader in Hydroprocessing technologies, combining a high level and broad scope of capabilities and knowledge.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the entire Hydroprocessing product lines, and become recognized internally and externally as technology expert.
• Developing technically innovative solutions to sales opportunities both for revamp and new units.
• Identifying flow schemes that provide the most economically attractive solution for a given Sales opportunity.
• Author technical and marketing papers and conduct presentations at industry conferences and client events to actively promote UOP Hydroprocessing technology.
• Participate with Sales in client prospecting to promote proactive client relationship building and obtain valuable voice of customer input for the business.
• Coordinate with Sales on how to respond to client requests with appropriate response that meets customer requirements through the various stages of the sales process.
• Taking the lead role at customer meetings for bid clarifications, technology updates, technical proposal review and general positioning of respective technologies.
• Identify pull-through opportunities from projects being developed. Ensure equipment sales are positioned effectively during the preliminary proposal stage.
• Participate in the development of project specific sales and guarantee strategies for projects.
• Advising Sales how to respond to client requests with less work-intensive products that meet customer requirements through the various stages of the sales process.
• Continuous Tools / Work Process Improvement.
• Active contributor for UOP Knowledge Management System.
• Mentoring new members of the team.
Compensation: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $149,000 - 189,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
YOU MUST HAVE:
• Prior experience in commercial sales, technical sales, or engineering in the field of Hydroprocessing technologies is basic requirement.
• A total of 15+ years of experience is preferred.
• Ability to travel globally up to 25% of time.
WE VALUE:
• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering is basic requirement.
• Advanced professional certification with significant experience in the field will be valued as additional qualification.
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment and lead major internal projects by managing stakeholders and be the technical focal for team of technology managers.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and foster strong customer relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively across language and cultural barriers.
• In-depth knowledge of Honeywell UOP and competitor platforms, products and technologies will be considered as valuable experience.
