Senior Electrical Engineer
Start Date: September 2024 / Location: Doha (with occasional site visits)
• Shape critical operations: provide electrical expertise to both live assets and greenfield expansions.
• Collaborate broadly: work alongside project teams, maintenance crews, and multidisciplinary engineers.
• Drive safety & reliability: ensure our 132 kV down to 415 V systems meet world class standards.
What You'll DoStandards & Compliance: Ensure designs and modifications follow IEC codes, hazardous area classifications, and QatarEnergy's PTW/WMS procedures. Participate in FAT/SAT tests and review Scope Deviation Requests for operational risk assessments. Cross Functional Liaison: Act as the electrical point person for the Project Management Team, Operations, Maintenance, and external vendors. Contribute electrical insights in multidisciplinary workshops and handover meetings. Safety & Quality: Champion zero harm practices, arc flash awareness, and safe work protocols. Support incident investigations and continuous improvement of SHE programs.
Minimum Required Qualification & Experience: Soft Skills: Excellent English communication-written and verbal. Strong team player, proactive problem solver, and adaptable under tight schedules. Computer Literacy: Skilled with MS Office and electrical design software.

What You'll Do
- Technical Support:
- Review and interpret single line diagrams, schematic layouts (PDB/LDB), and datasheets for transformers, relays, UPS, motors, generators, etc.
- Apply fundamental power system calculations (active/reactive power, power factor, synchronous speed).
Minimum Required Qualification & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: At least 4 years in an Oil & Gas environment, with solid exposure to onshore power generation and distribution.
- Technical Skills:
- Comfort with medium voltage protection relays (overcurrent, earth fault, under voltage) and generator control (droop & isochronous modes).
- Proficiency in electrical theory, cable sizing, switchgear design, and electrical calculations.
