JOB DESCRIPTION

NOV Gqeberha is looking for a dedicated CNC Turner Apprentice to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge in the trade of CNC Turning. The successful candidate will undergo structured on-the-job training and attend trade school, working towards passing the required trade tests and becoming a qualified CNC Turner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Must have passed Matric and demonstrate proficiency in foundational education.
• Participate in both theoretical and practical training as per the CNC Turner apprenticeship program.
• Gain hands-on experience through on-the-job training and complete required module assessments.
• Operate machining equipment in the Machine Shop and work toward high-quality output.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and shop documents accurately.
• Follow the weekly production schedule and identify any risks to meeting targets.
• Report any safety, quality, or productivity concerns through appropriate channels.
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces in line with 5S housekeeping standards.
• Accurately track and submit work hours using Kronos or other timekeeping systems.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to resolving production challenges.

Qualifications:

• Technical Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Standard or Higher Grade)
• Additional trade-related subjects at Grade 12 level will be an advantage
