Wood is recruiting for a talented Survey Intern to join its Consulting Group business focusing on support our Survey, GIS and Data Management Team. This opportunity is Hybrid in our Houston, TX office.

The Role
The Survey Intern will support survey and geohazards / site assessments for offshore projects. The internship is intended for GIS / Survey students (not new graduates) and is expected to last the summer (approximately 3 months).

The Role
The Survey Intern will support survey and geohazards / site assessments for offshore projects. The internship is intended for GIS / Survey students (not new graduates) and is expected to last the summer (approximately 3 months).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities:
- Assist in analyzing and reviewing geophysical survey data collected with survey sensors such as multibeam sonars, sidescan sonars, sub-bottom profilers and magnetometers.
- Understand and assess the quality and accuracy of survey data collected.
- Assist in writing survey scopes of work and specifications for marine survey activities in support of engineering and installation projects.
- Assist in oversight of offshore survey programs, ensuring project objectives and deliverables are met.
- Assist with producing maps, charts, reports and other data deliverables for internal and external issue.
- Assist project engineers in siting of subsea equipment, providing bathymetry, slope analysis and geohazard data.
- Assist in managing project GIS databases including data loading, quality assurance and metadata.
- Contribute to GIS data specifications and other technical material.
- Assist with performing pipeline routing assessment and developing reports.
- Interact with department members to ensure that work is produced and issued in a timely manner and project information is distributed amongst them
- Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner.
- Comply with all company policies including safety policies.

Expected:
- 3rd-4th year of Bachelor's Degree in Survey
- Intern or professional experience (less than 3 years) in Survey
- Must be US Citizen or eligible to work in the US (local candidates preferred)
- Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced and flexible environment
- A good understanding of coordinate systems and transformations.
