Electrical Engineering Specialist

This role will be based in Toronto, ON.

Your role within the team:

• Develop plan and profile drawings of Overhead lines and installation details of underground Cables for distribution network in coordination with engineers.
• Develop underground cable routing conduit and trench plan layout and sections for distribution network.
• Assist Design Engineer to prepare Scope of Work using the planning specification information.
• Perform simple estimates using data from the utility material database.
• Prepare electrical material requisitions and performance specifications.
• Prepare Bills of Materials and Cable Schedules.
• Work closely with peers and other discipline designers to ensure accurate delivery that will meet utility.
• Standards, industry standards and meet good engineering practices, policies and procedures.
• Maintain good working relationship with internal groups that support the project.

The ideal candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as Distribution Engineer in the field of Transmission and Distribution is considered to have gained the required experience for the position.
• Good knowledge of North American codes and standards such as IEEE and ANSI.
• Reasonable proficiency in AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, ProjectWise and Electronic Document Management Systems is a must.
• Experience in Hydro One and Toronto Hydro Engineering and Construction Standards is a must.
• Experience in using Software like SpiderCalc and Cable pull planner 3000 will be an asset.
• Good written and verbal communication skill.
