Essential skills and knowledge
- Assess project risk and consider appropriate risk mitigation solutions to prevent any potential impact on project delivery.
- Lead an area of specialization of medium sized Cat III multi-disciplines brownfield projects.
- Ensures compliance with systems and processes including the Project Management System and maintains support and adoption of all processes.
- Prepare plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of projects.
- Ensure readiness to proceed to next phase.
- Identify requirement and keep track all external interface and commercial agreements.
- Work closely with Operations Business - Joint Interest Team / Commercial Team where scope involves execution and use / transfer of affected facilities ownership of various companies / shareholders.
- Also, execution within / involving 3rd party facilities e.g. Kahrama, RLIC for the tie-ins and support facilities as applicable
- Lead the development of the scope of work for the Tender package of the Engineering Procurement and Construction Contract.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure project requirements are captured.
- Participate in Contracting and procurement activities to ensure overall project requirements are met from pre-qualification, preparation of bid invitations and requests for quotation, bidding, evaluations, contract execution and performance, and contract(s) close-out.
- Monitors and provides necessary support to the FEED, Contractor(s) and vendors.
- Ensures the facilities are constructed per the scope, meeting standards and specifications, within the time and project cost approved by the shareholders.
- Evaluate complex tasks and provide appropriate recommendations to management on issues.
- Effective use of technical knowledge and provide support to other disciplines.
- Demonstrate broad understanding of core skill applications and techniques across disciplines.
- Manage simultaneous work progress while having capacity to adapt to multiple inputs / changes.
- Review Contractor's performance and site activities to identify potential issues.
- Comply to management of change (MOC) process
- Possess strong multi-disciplinary skills and contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks lending expertise in area of specialization.
- Develop guidelines in the area of expertise for investigations and evaluations.
- Undertake project cost analysis to accurately estimate costs.
- Monitor and minimize project related cost expenditures.
- Test, monitor and support for continuous improvement.
- Maintain close liaison with shareholder technical staff at same level.
- Interact with all team members to foster good teamwork and achieve project objectives.
- Guide less experienced engineers in executing the project and implementing the company integrity and reliability systems; role is not limited to project engineering team members only.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Degree in Engineering or Science majoring in Engineering in the area of specialization
- 8 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, of which 5 years' are in project management team role.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Attain and maintain competence in accordance with the technical competence framework requirements.
- Conversant with company, National and internationally accepted specifications.
- Computer literate, with advanced knowledge of all relevant engineering software tools, systems and tools.
